Getting my player again was the best decision I made. Been buying so many discs recently!

There are some makes/models you should probably avoid, (and some are better for video capture than audio and vice versa) so tell us which ones you're looking at.

This French clip from the news in '99 seems to include some scenes from a theatrical print. Interesting color wise. We're not very far from the BD here.

To cut a long story short I picked up two broken players very cheap and fixed them (for how long, who knows) so I've got a CLD-D515 (PAL/NTSC) and CLD-D780 (which is a variation of a 604). The 515 just needed a new belt and a replacement m-holder, the 780 needed a new belt/m-holder too but I also had to re-cap the power supply board. All in all two decent machines for less than the price of one, the money I saved paid for an AC3 demodulator but I got SUPER lucky on that
