The Brothers Grimsby - admitedly, this is the usual vulgar comedy with hard jokes, OK, but this time the serious parts are very well done; in particular, the POV shots are great (yep, even the comedy ones); and, I laughed a lot, almost crying in a couple of scenes!
So, if you can stand a lot of bad words and vulgar jokes, I think it's a funny spy/comedy mix, after all! 6.5/10

If cats disappeared from the world - a Japanese poetic story, you will surely cry (like you did for Hachico); very well acted and directed, with a wise choice of color palettes; reccomended to anybody, not only cat lovers. - 8/10

The Dark Knight (2008) from iTunes. It's OAR --- no mixed Aspect Ratios
Bought it today in the hopes it would be 2.35:1, which it is
Already stripped the DRM from it and then i gonna sync the Dolby TrueHD to it as well
AFAIK this version was never available as a WEB-DL, hence me buying it.

Carole King's Tapestry Live in Hyde Park - Blu-ray
The Blu-ray is included in a bundle with the CD. I was actually at the concert, which was amazing, so I knew I had to purchase the release. The picture quality is... less than stellar. In fact, it's got aliasing and blocking all over the place. That being said, the audio is stellar.

I just bought The Dark Knight Rises from iTunes and I'm going to watch it in a few. This version is also in Scope, just like the iTunes version from The Dark Knight
No more bullshit of changing Aspect Ratios
Gonna sync the BD audio to it as well.

In Theaters
Close Encounters of The Third Kind- Saw this classic on the screen a couple weeks ago with the new 4K master. I miss this kind of film-making, this sense of wonder, this optimism, this brand of Spielberg film. Just a joy to see. 5/5
IT- Now the biggest horror film ever in the USA. Does it deserve it? Not sure but it's pretty good. Cinematography is damn pretty. The kids are great. You really feel like they are 80s era kids and even better that they are long-time friends. The clown is scary but the movie had too many jump scares. The one big compliant about this and most modern horror films is it just didn't want to build a sense of dread. Jump scares do nothing for me. Still it was pretty good overall. 3.5/5
Blade Runner 2049- Need to start a thread specifically talking about the spoilers in this. I'm still trying to digest the film. It was very good...a worthy companion piece to the original. It doesn't take away anything from the original and only builds on it. I feel like I did after seeing Mad Max: Fury Road, in that this is was the number one movie I was looking forward to this year and it didn't disappoint. A sequel to an old film that I revere that somehow beats the odds as is great. But fair warning it's a long, slow film. Not an action piece. Kind of in keeping with the original 5/5
Edit: Also the Imax was fully open matte at 1.90

47 Meters Down - didn't expect too much from this, really... thought it was a B movie with some success, but I was wrong. Actors are good - even Mattew Modine - and the story, even if quite simple, works very well, CGI is very good; there is a sense of terror, oppression, tension, that build up minute after minute. So, if you can stand that, you'll find out it's a very good film! - 8/10
Patchwork - OK, it's a guilty pleasure, I must admit, finding and watching strange, unusual films... a mixture of horror comedy, splatter, and some over-the-top violence. Not for everyone; far from the level of Braindead, but if you like The Revenant (2009), I'm pretty sure you'll like this as well! - 6.5/10
Glitch (series) - found accidentally, reading just the review on IMDB raised in me interest; long story short, few dead persons come back to life, as normal people, not zombies... so, don't expect a TWD clone. Yet, an interesting series, even if very short (just 6 episodes for the first season); second season is broadcasted in these days. - 8/10
Nightbreed - The Cabal Cut - note: I watched this once, maybe 25 years ago, on TV, and yet, rewatching it, I remember a lot of scenes, and that's strange, because I usually remember few scenes even after just months... said that, I didn't remember the film as a whole. What can I say? I love the monsters, the story, but overall there were some points a bit confused, don't know if it's this very cut. And SFX is a mixed bag, with actual makeup usually very good, while others (like the leopard headed girl riding a monster) are frankly awful, even for the time.
There are about 12 minutes of added shots, where maybe 9/10 are of good quality (comparable to the theatrical cut), but without color correction, and the rest are just VHS "as is" (very low quality, jaggies, muddy, noise, drop outs, even black bar to cover timecode!), and most of the latter shots have few or no importance for the story, and could be easily avoided to maintain an higher quality IMHO. So, a great chance to see a long waited cut, but I can say it's more appropriate for die hard fans only, instead of normal or casual viewers that could be probably annoyed by the quality drops. - 6/10

Fantastic 4 ... next is Transformers: The Last Knight. The new F4 was okay. Not entirely what I had wanted but it was nice to see a somewhat different take than the older 2 newer ones.

Yoga Hosers - apart LaPointe (Johnny Depp) nevi that change place and number, that is a nice stupid idea, I see no reason to waste time to watch this unfunny flick. 3/10
