Edited for music

Plenty of TV shows on DVD have had their releases affected in some way by music issues. I think the ones that stick out to me like a sore thumb are 21 Jump Street, The Muppet Show, I'm Alan Partridge, Only Fools and Horses, Sesame Street, Doctor Who, and Open All Hours. Anyone else know any TV shows dragged down by music rights, and where to find uncensored copies that can then be synced up to the general release versions as applicable?

Here are a few from memory.

A Bit of Fry and Laurie: One of the sketches had some music (badly) replaced due to licensing issues. The Netflix version had the original music intact, but I'm not sure if the show is up on Netflix anymore.

Monty Python's Flying Circus: Graham Chapman sings a couple of lines from a song, which has been cut on every DVD AFAIK (don't remember which series).

The Wrong Trousers: Music has been changed on the DVD and Blu-ray releases, including 'Happy Birthday' and 'How Much is that Doggie in the Window'. The original music can be found on VHS and Laserdisc releases.

The Peter Serafinowicz Show: One sketch was cut from the DVD release due to licensing issues. The sketch can be seen here.

The Young Ones: A whole bunch of music has been replaced or cut across both series on DVD.

Fist of Fun series 2: Not music related, but the BBC, for whatever reason, insisted that some jokes about the royal family be cut.

There are of course many more, but these are the ones I could think of off the top of my head.

For Open All Hours, the trouble is I can't seem to wrap my head around what the BBC had to excise, exactly, if anything, from the DVD releases.

There is an episode of Knight Rider that got that music rights problem. The episode is only in English on the German DVD set, because the English audio got altered, and it was cheaper to put it without German dub onto the DVD, instead of create a changed German audio track.

The Harry Hill Show will probably never be released on any home format due to music clearance issues Sad

Scrubs had several musical changes from broadcast... The Netflix version is atrocious, replacing multiple songs. The DVDs, to my knowledge, only have one change.

Really? I wondered why it had never come out, with Harry Hill becoming more well known and having several other DVD's out. Shame, I really liked that show.
