[Fan edit] Wonder Woman (2017) [spoRv]

Im not really familiar with Digital Projection in cinemas.
If it's anything like Post Production / Home Theatre, even calibrated equipment is going to have it's differences.

How much of a variation (even slight) does a transfer from other mediums yield a correction from our community?
I used to think Digital would narrow this somewhat, but I'm very wrong.

Well, the Korean source seems to not add much of itself, color wise; indeed, the promotional clips I used, after a minimal tweak (matrix and level changes, and a slight increase in saturation) match perfectly; the same for The Mummy and Alien: Covenant.

But trailers are different; even if they do not reflect perfectly the colors of the theatrical version, often they are closest than home versions.

It seems the teal&orange syndrome is slightly affecting almost every new Hollywood movie... Sad

It might get to the point where we get 'log' scans of the negative and apply our own LUT's depending on viewing circumstances.

It would come with a 'Director's Approved' set of parameters as a standard, but also variations to match monitoring equipment used.
This would also contain Aspect Ratio Variations with Pan and Scan Metadata where applicable.

I've just posted a thread in the technical sub-forum which may help us cast light on this particular issue.

Brilliant work! Had no idea hardcoded subs could be painted out so effectively either.

I'm not sure, but I think Sporv used trailer and similiar footage for this Smile

Used only promotional clips - about 5 minutes total; too lazy to grab all the trailers, and extract footage to use for this... Happy
