Im not really familiar with Digital Projection in cinemas.
If it's anything like Post Production / Home Theatre, even calibrated equipment is going to have it's differences.
How much of a variation (even slight) does a transfer from other mediums yield a correction from our community?
I used to think Digital would narrow this somewhat, but I'm very wrong.

It might get to the point where we get 'log' scans of the negative and apply our own LUT's depending on viewing circumstances.
It would come with a 'Director's Approved' set of parameters as a standard, but also variations to match monitoring equipment used.
This would also contain Aspect Ratio Variations with Pan and Scan Metadata where applicable.
