[Request] [proposal/request] 35mm scan of German animated movie "Felidae"
#11
Yeah, fair enough.

I decided to write an email to Criterion, suggesting the title. They already have "Watership Down", which strikes a similar tone imo. Would be really cool if they took it into consideration.

If you can clear rights you'd be able to locate and scan the negative. Try finding out who the rightsholder is, and ask them whether they can make it available for a Bluray restoration.

I was just thinking ... could you guys keep an eye out if this thing is ever aired in HDTV? I sincerely doubt they ever bothered to do a HD version, since it's only SD on Amazon etc., but who knows...

As for the rights, it may belong to the production company that no longer seems to exist, but I think the company belonged to the "director" who also made other movies. But I'm not really in a position in my life to be doing any convincing of people, add to that that my social skills are below zero.

Just a quick question. Does anyone know whether there is a laserdisc of this movie out there? Wikipedia says there was a release, but lddb.com doesn't show anything and neither can I find much about it anywhere else.

Anything on eBay or collectors' websites?
AKA thxita on OriginalTrilogy
I preserve movies as they first appeared in Italy.

Hm, I don't know any collectors' websites. But nothing on eBay, I checked many times.

If there is any NTSC DVD out there, that'd also be cool. Amazon.com only lists Region 2. ebay.com only shows the books.

Seems a quite hard to obtain movie...
Even German DVD seems to be not that cheap to get.

Edit: And French DVD even is more expensive... 119 Euro at Amazon.fr

Edit 2: Amazon.com shows German DVD of felidae... $149 and up on market place

Edit 3: according Amazon.fr the French DVD is with English audio, but that could be a wrong information

Edit 4: due to not mentioned at Amazon.com I think the I formation at Amazon.fr is just an error.

I live in Germany so the German DVD is reasonably easy to obtain, although not cheap. But I believe it's the one on rutracker anway and I have it. There's another Felidae DVD available online, but it's identical to the one on rutracker.

My idea was to do a kind of "PanUp" thing as spoRv suggested in the Guides section, with an NTSC version.
