The Abyss
#11
The Abyss (Special Edition based on the run time) will air on Ciné+ in France in about 2 weeks. Not announced as being HD, so most likely the same old uspcaled master in 2.35:1. This is a channel that protects their programs, so I can record them but cannot extract the recordings from my recording device known as Free Player associated with Freebox.

My Free Player playback is glitchy as hell, so I'm not the right guy for the job anyway.

It's worrying that receiving an honest, faithful presentation of the film from official sources would be considered 'lucky'.

Wiser to not hold one's breath and consider all available sources, even if Cameron's approved Blu-ray does somehow surface soon (as far as I can make out, there's still no formal announcement?)
