Don't forget that if you're talking about the 'Vestron' VHS and LD versions from the 80's, those were released with the edited for TV soundtrack instead of theatrical. There's a mid 90's VHS from WB/HBO (forget which) that corrects this issue.
Also, just for fun, I have an imported Chinese WS DVD of CBR with a very interesting subtitle track. Apparently the subtitles were created using a Mandarin or Cantonese dub of the film. It changes the whole plot! It's about the triads and organized crime... LOL
