After much consideration, I’ve decided the best course of action would be to return to my original plan: the Gold Standard Collection. Now that I am about to have more materials at my disposal, I feel the time is right to re-announce the first two titles in the Gold Standard Collection: A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS, to be produced first, and RESERVOIR DOGS. While I don’t expect to work on them simultaneously, I might release them both simultaneously, but in the meantime, I’ll continue to practice with DVDStyler and multiAVCHD until the time comes to make those masters.

So, uh, what's actually special about these releases? I don't get it, you gave no description what they're gonna be or I just don't understand this.

I’d explain, except my explanation would be in violation of PM confidentiality protocol. The part I CAN explain is, it’s past time for me to have something done (and everybody knows that), plus Gold Standard Collections take time to produce, so for the time being I’m going to have to release basic editions of even the planned GSC stuff.

I grant you the permission to talk about your restoration(s): state what you want to do for each one, like color regrading, different edit, noise reduction, grain, different tracks etc.
About PM, I do not see the problem...

OK, so for the basic editions, all I'll do is produce a version that looks good enough, with the occasional special features, and produce out of them masters fit for putting on a Beta tape, a VHS tape, a V2000 tape, a laser videodisc, a capacitance electronic disc, a VHD disc, a DVD, or a D-VHS tape.
It's the Gold Standard Collection editions where I'll go all out, with multiple versions, more languages, and special features up the wazoo, plus restorations to the best possible quality the best available sources can offer. Those will be made available as masters fit for a laser videodisc, DVD, or Blu-ray. I might even produce 3D (for those 3D films) and 4K Blu-ray masters if and once I get the software to do it. Features will differ depending on the limitations of the format, but generally, for the laser videodiscs, I plan to look to the Criterion Collection as a how-to guide for producing GSC-branded laser videodiscs. Save for The Boys in the Band, all of the above-mentioned works I'll release as basic editions early next year will eventually be released as part of the Gold Standard Collection. The next batch will be announced around the same time the first batch of basic editions get released.
Also, at Andrea's suggestion, I'll do a private release of the basic DVD version of Fistful of Dollars sometime within the next month, strictly for staff members and based heavily on a cross between the existing MGM DVD and the rental-only 20th Century-Fox 1st edition VHS, with certain elements (i.e. the opening and closing titles and the English mono track) from the Kino Lorber Blu-ray (which, by the way, I didn't find to be all that yellow when viewing it on my portable Blu-ray player, but then, perhaps your mileage may vary depending on the display and/or player you play it on).
