Exclusive Deleted Extended & Alternate footage from Analog Releases of Films

This is a list of analog home video releases of films that contain rare deleted, extended, and alternate shots and scenes that've currently never been digitally released on DVD, Blu-ray, Video on demand, etc. Hopefully, this list could be used as a guide for future fan edits and preservations. Feel free to add or contribute any information.

NOTE: TV versions don’t count unless it was released on an analog home video format.



VHS
Alligator (1980) - the 1983 US Catalina Home Video is the TV version. While edited for content it features 7 minutes of deleted scenes.

Arcade (1993) - the 1993 Argentinian Teleargentina contains the original CGI effects.

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (1978) - the 1987 Australian Cel Home Video features 4 minutes of deleted scenes.

Barracuda (1978) - the 1986 US VidAmerica, Inc. features an ending title card text at the end.

Blood Beach (1981) - the 1981 German UFA Video contains several unrated deleted shots and the 1981 US Media Home Entertainment features one scene not included on the DVD releases.

Bram Stokers Dracula (1992) - the 1993 UK Colombia/Sony Limited Box Set release is 18 seconds longer in 6 scenes.

Catchfire (Backtrack) (1990) - the 1995 US Avid Home Entertainment release is the Director’s Cut with 18 minutes of extended and alternate scenes.

Charge of the Light Brigade, The (1968) - the 1992 UK Connoisseur Video while missing 7 seconds is the longest version of the film.

Cold Blood (Das Amulett des Todes) (1975) - the German UFA Video is the extended version with 6 minutes of additional scenes.

Crawlers, The (1991) - the 1991 Japanese RCA/Columbia Pictures Video release runs 3 minutes longer than the US version.

Daughter of Darkness (1993) - the 1994 Hong Kong Ocean Shores is the only release to contain the full uncut version of the film.

Devil’s Wedding Night, The (1973) - the Japanese Sony release contains 1 minute of uncut gore scenes.

Emmanuelle 4 (1984) - the 1986 Canadian Cinema Plus Video features three scenes from the hardcore version.

Evil Dead, The (1981) - the 1984 Greek Diamond, 1985 Greek Video Standard, and the 1982 & 1995 Mexican Videomax releases contain three alternate shots from the Theatrical version.

Hollywood Monster (Ghost Chase) (1987) - the 1987 German VCL Communications release is the uncut extended version with 22 minutes of deleted scenes included while the DVD releases are all cut.

Jaws 2 (1978) - the 1985 Brazilian CIC Video contains 9 minutes of deleted and extended scenes.

Jungle Warriors (1984) - the 1985 US Media Home Entertainment release is the uncut version while the DVDs are censored.

Kickboxer (1989) - the 1990 Australian Palace Home Video release, while missing a few brief shortened scenes, is the most complete version of this film ever released.

Lady Terminator (1989) - the 1989 Japanese Columbia release is the international version with 1 minute of additional scenes.

Mad Max 2 (1981) - the 1982 UK & 1983 Australian Warner Home Video releases contain one extended scene.

Nightmare (1981) - the 1987 Australian Video Classics & Dutch Video for Pleasure releases are the uncut versions containing over 1 minute of additional scenes.

Nightmare on Elm Street 5, A: The Dream Child (1989) - the unrated 1990 US & Canadian Media Home Entertainment releases contain deleted shots from two scenes that were cut by the MPAA.

Playroom (Schizo) (1989) - the 1990 Dutch Excalibur release features an alternate ending.

Rawhead Rex (1987) - the 1988 Dutch Vestron Video International contains three uncut extended scenes.

Savage Weekend (1979) - the 1982 Dutch Vid Films is the uncut version containg one additional scene.

Sea of Love (1989) - the 1995 US MCA/Universal Home Video is the Thriller’s Edition that contains 8 minutes of deleted scenes.

Shocking Dark (Alienator) (1989) - the 1990 Japanese Caution Video contains 5 minutes of extended scenes including alternate shots.

Slaughterhouse Rock (1987) - the 1988 Dutch New York Video features the unrated version with 4 extended scenes.

Snowbeast (1977) - the 1977 US World Vision Entertainment contains 4 minutes of deleted and extended shots and scenes.

Stage Fright (1950) - the 2000 French Warner Home Video features two extended scenes.

Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987) - the 1988 German Cannon VMP contains two deleted scenes that were briefly shown on television broadcasts of the TV version.

Tenebre (1982) - the Israeli Malibu Video release contains 9 alternate scenes.

Thunder (1983) - the 1985 Japanese Eion release features 7 minutes of deleted and extended scenes.

Transgression (1994) - the 1994 UK Screen Edge release has scenes that are shorter, extended, and in a different order with alternate footage.

Twin Town (1997) - the 1997 US Polygram Video contains one extra scene not included on the DVD.

Wyatt Earp (1994) - the special expanded edition from the 1995 US Warner Home Video release contains 20 minutes of additional scenes plus one scene not included on the laserdisc version.

Zenabel (1969) - the Greek Video Films release, while missing a few scenes, contains two extended scenes.



BETAMAX
Barbarian Queen (1985) - the unrated 1986 US Vestron Video contains over 3 minutes of additional shots.

Kung Fu Zombie (1981) - the 1986 Japanese Daiei Video is the original uncut version of the film.

Sorority House Massacre (1986) - the 1988 UK Medusa Home Video features 11 minutes of deleted shots and scenes.



LASERDISC
Alamo, The (1960) ML102581, ML-12 & ML106354 - these are the Director's Cut with 35 minutes of deleted and extended scenes includingf two alternate shots.
American Graffiti (1973)  - these have the Theatrical opening shot of the restaurant that was digitally altered after the 25th anniversary release with a CGI sunset.
Back to the Future (1985) - the ending shot displaying the title card "To Be Continued" was removed from the DVD and Blu-ray release to preserve the Theatrical ending.
Backtrack (Catchfire) (1989) PILF-2246 - this is the Director's Cut. It contains 8 minutes of extended and alternate scenes.
Bad (1991) Z0300 - this is the uncensored version. The DVD was cut by over 20 minutes.
Blood Simple (1984) SF050-1357 - this is the Theatrical Cut. It contains a dialogue sequence missing from the UK Universal DVD.
Blue Thunder (1983) - these contain one scene not included on the DVD and Blu-ray versions.
Cafe Flesh (1982) Z0093 - the ending on the DVD was cut by a few seconds.

City Hunter (1993) PCLP-00477 - contains an extended opening with more shots from the manga including a few clips from the film and an alternate shot.
Dangerous Games (1995) AVIV-1012 -the DVD was severely edited by 13 minutes to create fake 'mutiple angle' footage. This contains the fully uncut 87 minute version.
Dead Poets Society (1989) 7821 AS - contains 14 minutes of deleted scenes.
Diary of Anne Frank, The (1959) 1074-80 & 1074-85 - these are the widescreen editions featuring the original walk-in, intermission, and exit music tracks from the Theatrical release.
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931) ML101642 - this is the fully restored uncensored version with 17 minutes of previously censored material.
Dream Lover (1993) 800633113-1 - features over 2 minutes. of deleted material.
Grizzly (1976) SF078-5011 - this contains a scrolling monologue in the beginning that was never shown on DVD.
Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse (1991) LV83081 - the DVD version is missing a mention of Harvey Keitel as Willard and a scene
Immortals, The (1995) LT8011-C & --- - these are the uncut versions of the film and are 6 minutes longer than the DVD version.
It (1990) 12198 - this contains the entire 192 minutes TV miniseries uncut with one extended shot at the ending of Part 1 and six deleted and extended scenes at the beginning of Part 2.
It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World  (1963) ML102194 - the Criterion Blu-ray is missing three scenes and two alternate shots that are only found on this version.
Jason's Lyric (1994) 800633909-1 & ID3837PG - these are the Unrated version that contain about 1 minute of additional footage.
Jimi Hendrix: Rainbow Bridge (1970) ID3931RH - this contains an additional 17 minutes to the original film's 108 minute DVD version.
Lion King, The (1994) - a majority of the animated footage and title cards were remastered after the 1995 Walt Disney Home Video releases of the Theatrical Version for every re-released format.
Loaded Weapon 1 (1993) PCLV-10014 - this is the TV Version. While edited for content it contains 13 minutes of deleted and extended scenes.
Love on Delivery (1994) ML 456 ML  457 -  the Blu-ray has several frame cuts removing certain parts of dialogue and shots & censored subtitles made on the HK DVD making this the uncut version.
Make Mine Music (1946) SF078-0110 - in the "All the Cats Join In" segment for the DVD, a scene was edited to remove a "side breast" from a girl as she gets dressed. Originally, she was seen from behind, and the side and swell of her breasts were drawn, but in the edited version, she's implied to be flat-chested.
Melody Time (1948) SF078-1214 - the later VHS and DVD releases were both cut and censored in the Pecos Bill segment.
Michael Schenker Group (M.S.G.): Hammersmith Live (1983) TE-D027 - this is the longest version available after it was reissued and shortened under the title "Rock Will Never Die".
Minako Honda: The Virgin Live in Budokan (1986) L098-10 - this contains an additional 36 minutes compared to the 59 minute DVD.
Moontrap (1989) SWLD-3033 - this is the Japanese version that contains several deleted and extended scenes.
Muppet Movie, The (1979) LVITC 0011 - this contains 2 minutes of extended shots and scenes.
Nightmare on Elm Street 5, A: The Dream Child (1989) ID7189ME & TKLR-50013 - these have deleted shots from two scenes that were cut by the MPAA.
Nightmare on Elm Street 6, A: Freddy's Dead - The Final Nightmare (1991) 1964-130 - this is the German version. It contains almost 3 minutes of scenes that aren't in the US version, but it's also missing scenes that are only shown in the US version.
Object of Obsession (1994) ID3279AP - this is the Unrated version with 5 minutes of additional scenes.
Once A Thief (1996) ID4058AP - this is the Director's Cut with 12 minutes of additional scenes, a slightly different ending, and some of the dialogue's cut out in this version.
Other Woman,The (1992) ID2475M - this is the Unrated version with 8 minutes of additional scenes.
Pamela Principle (1992) ID2502MR - this is the uncut version with 4 minutes of additional scenes.
Peking Opera Blues (1986) PILF-7063 & A015 - this contains missing text that aren't on the DVD and Blu-ray releases that were part of the ending shown in the Theatrical Cut.
Program, The (1993) TL-1343 - it includes one scene that was removed from all other releases of the film. The studio cut it shortly after the film's theatrical release.
Protector, The (1985) G88F0051 - contains 3 minutes of additional scenes to the Hong Kong version of the film.
Ransom (1995) 8295 AS, PILF-2392 & PILF-2680 - these are the Director’s Cut containing 18 minutes of deleted footage.
Rock n’ Roll Cop (1994) OL-395 - contains the fully uncut version while the DVD is censored.
She's Gotta Have It (1996) CC1381L - this is the Director's Cut containing 4 minutes of additional scenes.
Solar Crisis (1990) PCLP-00128 - this is the uncut Director's Cut with 7 minutes of additional footage.
Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) LV 8858-2A & f SF057-1618 - these are the extended version to the Theatrical Cut that was briefly shown on ABC television with 12 minutes of additional scenes.
Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999) PILF-2830 - this is the only release to feature the Theatrical version.
Starflight One (1983) LVRK 0175 - this contains 7 minutes of additional scenes.
Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987 K88L-5090 - contains two uncensored shots that were briefly shown on television broadcasts of the TV version.
Texasville (1990) PSE93-34
- contains 24 minutes of additional scenes.
THX 1138 (1971) - these are the Theatrical vfersion of the film.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) 940 CS - contains two shots that were censored for every subsequent release.
Wyatt Earp (1994) 13921 & NJWL-13921 - these are the Special Expanded editions with 19 minutes of addtional scenes.
Yellow Submarine: The Beatles (1968) PILA-3029 - this version contains the Theatrical Cut of the film containing additional songs which have never been released on DVD.

Actually, there were at least two digital SD broadcasts of it - TB and ORF1 - and rumors of an HD one, even if it's difficult to say for sure, as it's not surfaced (yet?)

Does anyone know about the various analog release versions of the The Big Boss (1971)?

I know one is a french VHS and the other is a German dubbed version.

I thought Ransom had the deleted scenes as extras on DVD, but the LD has them integrated.
The IAMMMMW boxset long version still has a few shots not in the long Criterion extended reconstruction.

The UK limited box VHS of Dracula is in 6 scenes 18 seconds longer than the DVD or BD Version.

Also, IIRC there is an "one movie" The Godfather LaserDisc version.

From what I've read the collector's edition laserdisc of "A Nightmare On Elm Street" has some deleted footage that didn't make it's way to the Infinifilm DVD or Blu-Ray.
