Blood donation
#1
Heart
Today I made my second blood donation - done first four years ago...

Why I have waited so much from the first one - and why I did not make the first before - frankly I don't know... it is a quick, almost painless procedure, but it could save a life, so I decided to make it more frequently - as much as I can.

Please, donate blood, it's very important!

Thanks!

I would like to, but I heard of a story where during the injection a man's nerves were damaged and he had a paralyzed hand/lower arm from it. I know the risk is probably very small, but my hands are among the most valuable tools I have so I'm rather hesitant putting them at risk.

I've considered it before, but my government doesn't allow it Smile

What? You can't donate blood? So, if you need a blood transfusion, you should go outside your country, or simply die? Thrilled

I've had a transfusion in the past which means I'm now not eligible to give blood. Weird rule. I'm also never in the UK for more than a few weeks and there is a 4 week wait for people returning from China, before they can give blood. Fair play to you for doing your bit though Andrea, I'd be dead if not for the blood of a stranger.

Oh you can. Just certain groups of people aren't allowed Smile

Sure, as here - you have to answer to A LOT of questions, and then they will make blood tests before allowing you to donate - and it's the right way to do that, as someone could be ill even without knowing it!
