Thanks for the offer though. How does that method compare to the Video Enhancer 2 Super Resolution resize? I did some work on a project recently where I needed to insert some SD scenes into an HDTV version. I used the Super Resolution method twice then did a Dr Dre colour correction in Premiere. You can still tell when the extra scenes play but I was happy with the overall results.

Gotta be honest, the Video Enhancer Super Resolution never really worked for me. I bought it back when it was still shareware, but I could barely tell any difference. Though admittedly I tried it mainly on an animated film, where it might not really work the way it's intended to.

AI is definitely far superior, no doubts. But the downside is that you have to train it on a dataset that closely resembles the thing you want to upscale, which may not always be easy to do.

That's cool. I would fancy replacing the logo on my syncs too, because that MGM Lion logo really doesn't make those films feel vintage.

Could I insert it loosless via TS muxer?

TS Muxer might work, but it can get glitchy very easily in my experience. I got myself TMPGEnc Smart Renderer for this type of stuff, works a charm - can even repair glitchy files by running them through it sometimes. It will also immediately show you if a lossless combination is possible or not - primarily depends on resolution and framerate of course, but there are lots of under-the-hood factors too. Someone else also mentioned VideoRedo as being able to do it well too.

As TomArrow mentioned I've tried joining before in TS Muxer and it didn't work for me. If you don't have a HD source for the logo though let me know I can send it to you.

Why are they banned?

Shortly after releasing the first 3 James Bond films on Laserdisc in a 2-disc CAV format in 1991, Criterion was asked by EON Productions (Producers of the James Bond Films) to recall all unsold Laserdisc product. It was felt that the audio commentary tracks on the 3 titles where unacceptable to Albert R. Broccoli, one of the original producers of the 3 films.

The 3 films had later been re-packaged by Criterion into a single disc format, and re-issued without any of the supplemental features. When MGM released their DVD’s of the first 3 films in the mid 1990’s, they contained different audio commentaries.

Did Mr. Broccoli say why he deemed them unacceptable?
