Star Wars - HD trailers
#1
Recently I started a thread on OT - http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.c...opic/17854 - and, because I never did it before, I thought to restore a trailer... easy task, I said myself... well, not hard like restoring and entire movie, but a bit difficult; in particular, the audio, because I'm not that expert in that field...

OK, I'm working on EP7 trailer #2; took the DCI rip as main source - that is really superior even to 4K youtube versions, and iTunes download (resized to correct aspect ratio) to replace non-English audio and video; next will be EP7 trailer #1, then some 1997 SE trailers.

Stay tuned!

Update 2015-05-31 00:43 CET: both EP7 DCP and SE 97 trailers released

I'm unfamiliar with all of the lingo, so you'll have to forgive me... But what does DCI mean? (I googled it and had a hard time finding an answer, haha)

DCI = Digital Cinema Initiative -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_cinema

Technically, it was a DCP, not a DCI... but it's always a Digital Cinema source! Big Grin

Yes, I think there was a Mad Max Fury Road trailer #2 RU DCP also out there -- could be good go be conformed to the US version!

Awesome

Actually, there are A LOT of DCP-rip trailers in the wild - in particular recent movies, of course!

Would it be OK to create a thread and link to sources? Just the raw DCPs as they are.

As they are bonus material with no available commercial release (yet) I think it's OK, but you should "confine" the links in the first post only.
