Should've taken a screencap of the blooper where you can see Carl Weather's real arm tucked under the prosthetic (after the Predator shoots it off).

Predator was not only shot full 1.37, but also had the VFX animated and finished in that ratio (which is rare as most productions shoot and animate such sequences at a wider ratio and hard mask to approx the theatrical ratio).
I know for sure the initial 4:3 Laserdisc and VHS were fully opened up for most shots, hence boom mics and studio props galore alongside Carl Weather's "arm". The 4:3 DVD is not pan and scan, but compared to the huge amount of horizontal info lost vs vertical info gained it's noticeably zoomed in on several shots (probably for obvious reasons to avoid repeating the same mistakes the older 4:3 transfer made).
