I like his T2 print to some extent. I'm using it amongst my references, as it fits my recollections in some scenes. But yeah, I don't understand the changes. He definitely uses LUTs, he says so in the notes: "The 35mm colour restoration was fairly simple give such a great source print scan. colours & levels on the whole were very even across each reel, as would be expected for a big budget production. The LUT did 90% of the correction automatically, with a scene-by-scene correction, and only the odd shot here and there which needed further tweaking. The finished restorations fairly similar to the Blu-Ray release, although the Blu-Ray has lower contrast in most of the scenes, and in various places is a little more pinky in the skintones & highlights."
And knowing it's crowdfunded, I wonder how people giving money feel about that. I gave money in the past for some 35mm scans on the OT forum, but the results being what they are, it's no motivation. I wonder which "Blu-ray" he compares it to, 'cause the 1080p Blu-ray looks very different from the print I saw, and the UHD Blu-ray is a lot closer, except for the orangy dusk final office scene as I stated before.
