Ive used the release group FraMeSToR's Remux of the US Bluray as the source for this, as opposed to my U.K Blu Ray as both contain identical video encodes.

They trimmed a few dead seconds from the beginning of the film, reencoded the PCM to DTS-HD and named the chapter points. All of which I have kept, so a special thanks to them.

I have to see what is around but I do have the 1st gen DVD of Crimson Tide. The one mastered from the same video as the LD. I was looking at it as a future project but the video still had a little of the red push we often see so I put that to the side. But the 5.1 is solid if you want it.

Any chance of grabbing this off of you?

No 6 is going to be Crimson Tide, although I'm finding it hard to source alt tracks beyond what I own for these releases at the moment. I'm in PAL territory also which adds to the lack of my choices.

I was a teenager during the 90's and a huge action movie fan, with that its my favorate decade for films in general
It's not intentional to just cover these, but it's also no surprise that the majority of my collection is repeat releases of these jems.

Nothing wrong with that, 90s was a great time for action films. In this day and age, I wish we had more original action films like we did back in the 90s.

I was kindly sent an Open Matte version by member dwalkerdon, who also helped preview this release.
It's a slightly tweaked version of the process I used with the OAR version, although the grade differs slightly due to it being a different grade in itself.
I also synced to the OAR release, using the same audio options ect.
Again, there is a grain plate to help hide some compression noise. I know some don't like this, but it does help.

I've not come across an open matte version of Crimson Tide, all have been Pan & Scan beyond the 2:35:1 AR.
It appears to have been shot on 35mm with Anamorphic lenses, which suggests against a conventional open matte version.
In that, I mean they may very well have cropped in on certain shots, but on the whole the master is in scope AR.
