Ivan's Childhood Lumière Publishing BD synced to Criterion BD

Ivan's Childhood Lumière Publishing (Nederlands) Blu-ray synced to Criterion Blu-ray

Better sound.
Better than Criterion DVD audio, Potemkin (French) Blu-ray, Japanese Blu-ray, Close Up Russian DVD, Criterion Blu-ray...

Laserdisc? Maybe? I don't know...

The Lumiere uses Mosfilm's latest 2K restoration from the OCN. ...So it also looks better than the Criterion blu-ray.

Are they all new Mosfilm transfers? I keep finding myself getting frustrated over Criterion's frequent mishandling of Solaris, but sadly all English language friendly versions use Criterion's "restoration." I'm happy with Criterion's treatments of Stalker and Ivan's Childhood though.
Program material is recorded on the other side of this disc...

They all use the most recent Mosfilm scans, yeah, but Ivan's Childhood is the only one that is indisputably the best compared to all its other versions.

Stalker has also been released by Potemkine and Criterion with some small variations. I prefer the Criterion release of Mirror, which is an entirely different colour grade of the same scan. The 2K Solaris has been released by a bunch of distributors too - only the Criterion and Aritficial Eye come from the old master.  Andrei Rublev looks about the same across all its blu-ray releases.

In terms of sound, the new restoration of Ivan's Childhood on the Lumiere faithfully represents Mosfilm's restored track without any change. (At the very least I I couldn't detect any after comparing it briefly to Mosfilm's YouTube upload of the same resto.)

Solaris and Andrei Rublev each have one blu-ray release that sounds much better than the others.

I haven't looked too closely into the audio for Mirror yet.

Moshrom, thank you for the informations.
The sound and image of dutch blu-ray is definitely better.
We hope for a 4k version in the future.
