Does anyone have the PCM from a Suspiria LD?

That’s kind of what I’m thinking. If either matrixed or pure stereo; both would be nice to preserve.

Again I’m just asking for a possible project. I didn’t know any of this info so glad I asked. Solid stuff.

Is there a reliable way to tell if a stereo track is matrixed or not?

Hi @PDB I'm a bit late to the parade but if I recall correctly, a LONG TIME ago on originaltrilogy, Matt Stevens did a rip and sync of Suspiria on DVD. If anyone has that still that'd be cool, but AFAIK, I no longer have a copy.

After all the intensive comparisons of audio tracks around the forum lately, I'm very interested to see if one of the old Suspiria tracks (from the LD or old BD releases) holds up. But, then again, Synapse's 4.1 is pretty impressive.

FWIW, when the IT BD of the Tortsen Kaiser restoration was released, I recall reading on Blu-Ray Forum that the 5.1 English track was actually just an up-mix of the laserdisc soundtrack. Take this with a grain of salt, as I haven't been able to verify. Furthermore, not sure where the LFE channel would have come from.
