Do you mean open matte 1.78:1 has full vertical info while IMAX 1.90:1 is like a "letterboxed" version of it?

Yes. They did those like Nolan IMAX movies, except in 3D. Then Marvel went 1.90:1 3D for Ragnarok, Panther, Wasp, etc.

The opening title sequence has more info top and bottom on the open matte but the first IMAX scene that has more info on both sides and top & bottom.

Anyone else checked different versions out yet?

PS I tried to take screenshots but I guess the DRM is blocking PrtSc.

Here are some comparisons between the Blu-ray, Open Matte and IMAX Enhanced versions from all seven scenes using the 1.90:1 AR in the Disney+ release: https://slow.pics/c/8vavL3Sv

We're clearly getting more information in the IMAX versions, although the Open Matte will at times have a bit more on the top and/or bottom.

Interesting! In the last comparison open matte has more info on all four sides!

Who cares about more visible info if the detail is scrubbed away.

I stick with the original BD. Far better video and audio. Disney can keep their Atmouse crap audio and DNR'ed video.

Hello,
I know that this statement has been said before but,
Is there anyone capable of making a hybrid release of the new IMAX ENHANCED MCU films between the UHD Bluray and the DSNP IMAX Enhanced version?
I think that is the closer we will get to a UHD IMAX Bluray for now.
Example

"Hybrid Sources used: UHD BR for the Widescreen zone and the Streaming media IMAX for the Open Matte information."

Might be a bit late to the party but I compared them all and can confirm. All Open Mattes have info the IMAX doesn't a considerable amount of time (and vice-versa) even in expanded ratio scenes. So the ideal hybrid would be UHD on top of D+ on top of Open Matte.
If nobody will do this by the time I finish my Wizarding World project I would definitely be up for these triple overlays and a marvel project in similar fashion. The biggest challenge would be keeping the HDR metadata when adding the Open Matte into the mix. For the first 2 should fairly easy since both 4K and IMAX WEBs are HDR and autooverlay supports HDR overlay.

Some random examples. Though I did them for all movies, can share more if anyone wants to see more.

IMAX Non expanded scene. (as others have pointed out, wonder why IMAX didn't open up these scenes as well, pity)

Because that's how the IMAX versions were when they were released theatrically.
