[In progress] Crocodile Dundee - Australian Cut HD Recreation
#21
Nice project. I was looking for that cut for a long time but couldn't even find the DVD. BD with upscale inserts are likely the best option.

Please don't do cuts mid-scene, the change in picture quality will be extremely disturbing.

Hi,
Also very interested if this project was finished. I live in Australia and watched the Encore Cut at the cinema and unfortunately they did not use the original Australian version. Any word on this project would be appreciated because it appears the original cut will be never be officially released besides the 2007 DVD.
Cheers, Tim

Hey I just joined this site so I'm not sure how it works.
This project seems really cool and was wandering if you finished it and
is there a way to download it?
Can you dm me?

As a new member, I don't want to immediately break rules. So before I proceed, I want to ask:

Rule 2: I do own the best available copy of the title as of a few years ago i.e. before the butchered Encore Cut UHD.
Rule 6: Unless anyone knows otherwise, the Australian version is not commercially available.

I have completed my own restoration consisting of HD content of the International Version intercut with upscaled DVD footage from the AU DVD. It's far from perfect, given the dismal nature of the DVD, but it's as good as I can get it with the tools and skill set I have here.

Can I share it here? I can't (yet) use the PM system.

Hi!
1) If you did your own fan edit you wish to share then you should start your own thread for that project because...
2) If you do you'll theoretically be in the highest echelon of new members here on FanRes as 99% of new members don't contribute edits/restorations. Other fan editors/restorers here will be much more likely to share things with you, answer your questions, give you advice you might ask for, etc. if you're a contributor
3) If you start your own thread of a project you've done, give details and some frame grabs. Don't worry if your edit is perhaps a little rough. We assume you'll be doing more work as the years go by. You'll get better, will learn... Maybe in just a few weeks/months you'll have a v2 of this edit of yours from some things you learned here!
4) A small note that direct links are not permitted in your posts!
