Nice to see that this fantastic movie still has many fans who also care about the details.
For reasons beyond me, the producers or labels apparently just can't resist to mangle around with the audio for the felt hundredth time instead of just providing the best audio source as used in the cinema back in the days or at least provide it in addition to any Dolby Atmos super-duper-whatnot remix.
As I already noted a few years ago, the newer remixes not only most probably aren't faithful to the theater release but also suffer from weird flaws such as the "tinny" acoustics which are most apparent in the "ring trick" scene.
So far, the best source for the Dolby Stereo mix most probably is still the Japanese LaserDisc (if anyone interest, PM me) for the longer director's cut or an early DVD release with 5.1.
