[Released] Scooby-Doo! and the Witch's Ghost (1999) [DVD Upscale]

Scooby-Doo! and the Witch's Ghost has an HD web-dl, but I'm not a huge fan of how it looks. 

Comparison

For the most part the DVD is progressive, but there was a small handful of frames that showed interlacing artifacts. I did my best to clean these up. I also applied a very fine layer of grain to give it a more natural look.

Dolby Digital 5.1 - R1 DVD

Chapter titles and subtitles taken from the DVD as well.

The credits indicate it was originally mixed in Dolby Stereo, and the only good source of that mix would be the VHS release. I don't have a way to rip VHS so if anyone does and can provide me the audio I'd greatly appreciate it.

Since this turned out well I think I might try Zombie Island next. So I'm on the lookout for the VHS audio for that as well.

...I really should just bite the bullet and buy a new VCR

I think both Witch's Ghost and Zombie Island are available in 1080p on Amazon Prime/Video. Idk if they're upscales or remastered

The colors are much better on the DVD. I don't even think it's worth it to color correct the web-dl, the upscale looks great in comparison.

Investigating further it looks like this was finished on video. And looking at the web-dl more I think it may just be the video master upscaled and DNR'd.

I haven't looked at Zombie Island as in-depth but going by the screenshots @Yarp posted that one might of fared better. It's possible they went back to the 35mm negatives for that remaster, but I haven't found any official statement on the matter.
