Nope, they only took out the moquito noise, but clearly the UH version as more detail. The grain gives the illusion the old version is better but it's not. Your example clearly shows it. Look at the wrinkle under his eye.
One grain plate over the UH version and you're good.

Watched Predator tonight as a result of this thread, and it's still as awesome a movie as when I first saw it. The action borders on ridiculous sometimes, and that's not a bad thing! As others have said, the MPEG-2 BD release was fine in motion if a bit soft. No doubt Predator would benefit from a thorough restoration, but it doesn't seem to be in the cards.

Here is film cells, colors it totally different and I like them. They give dark tone-ambient, exactly what is main thing.
They are not on the picnic in the jungle with puppy or teddy bear.
