The techmoan video was way better and way earlier.
The whole setup is flawed

I like this channel, but the guy advising him looked out of his depth to me.
At some point they even go about saying the reverse of what Linus says, that old mastering on inferior format can surpass new mastering on superior format if they both are botched, which is 101.

He intentionally made this setup with Components that are from 2002 when D-theater tapes was released, hence the reason why he bought a Pioneer Plasma from 2002.

He nearly single handedly has turned me off the channel.
He is an elitist LG fanboy and just comes across as condescending.
I used to watch all of the Linus videos but barely do now sadly.
Two years in the making! (We only got one tape...)

It reminds me of their recent Modern tv vs hdcrt video. They had one of the high end Sony’s but didn’t go into all the ins and outs of what makes them special. They tossed off a mention of “disabling service menu things” to make it better for gaming but never shared what they did.
