Persistent New/Today's/Unread Posts links

Would it be possible to have the quick links - View Unread Posts etc. - at the top of the page so they never expire?
I mean, for example, I like to always be on the View Unread Posts link, but when I load the page the next day or so it says "An invalid search was specified. Please go back and try again." and I have to click the link again.
Yes, just a minor inconvenience, but still an inconvenience.

It makes sense that they expire since the address of the actual url is changing, however I'm not sure why. I noticed this too, as I am always using the "view today's posts" option and always figured that this kind of makes sense. A little annoying, maybe, but how hard is it really to press F5?
