We Were Soldiers
#1
Don't suppose anyone out there has access to the US blu ray? I've been looking into this and the UK release is widely regarded as the better option due to improved picture and AVC encoding, however for some reason it misses all of the opening credits and the dates/locations. The US release is lower quality and MPEG2 but it doesn't miss off the credits and  dates/locations. I'm thinking maybe a hybrid of the two, possibly with rotoscoping, but I'm struggling to find the US release anywhere. Does anyone have one they can rip? Thanks

I can get that too.

Yes that's the one - I managed to find it on one of the sites I use but it only had one seeder doing 10 KiB/s so was projecting 60 days! Anyway if there is any way I could get that version that would be a massive help. Thanks.

Sure thanks - I assume that has the opening credits like the US blu ray?

UK disc has a green/yellow push I'm not into and that would be enough for me to look for another encode (very visible in the first two shots on caps a holic). There's French/Norwegian/Italian discs with AVC, but all are lacking the 6.1 DTS-ES mix.

Here's the first two shots off caps a holic for reference:

fwiw, the us disc may be mpeg2 but when given good bitrate mpeg2 encodes can often look great. i haven't seen full comps between the UK disc and the US disc though and the few references and comps i've found online are very old and dead.
