Converting to HVEC

Hi all,

I'm looking for a program to convert to a .hevc format - I've got some Web-DL's with HDR10+ in mkv format tht I'm looking to extract the metadata from to sync with the relevant UHD's. The hdr10plus program needs the file in HEVC but I can not seem to find a converter with an HEVC output. If anyone knows one (ideally free!) please let me know.

Have you tried ffmpeg? Use the '-c copy' flag and that should convert the container without re-encoding the video.

Managed to sort it with ffmpeg but used this:


ffmpeg -i input.mkv -c:v copy -bsf hevc_mp4toannexb output.hevc

[PDB]

You could also simply demux with gMKVExtractGUI. The files should be HEVC/265 once demuxed.
