Regarding the 4K release, we’ll use the same master but we’re trying to do our best to make some improvements, wherever possible. for sure it’ll be a BD-100. could be released this autumn.

so arrived it today and just gave a quick spin. never had paramount release but i must say i hate this transfer. true that caps can be misleading but in motion the "management" is way beyond my tolerance threshold.


grain is glued/frozen most of the time and spotted very waxed-look shots from time to time. colors are good but those can't save the other aspects IMO.


No go for me and that's a real shame what paramount did with one of the greatest italian movie of all time.

as for the technical: BD-100 with DV and a very healthy bitrate (always around 60/70), encoding appears to be very good; movie's duration is 165m49s and opening and closing credits are in english. no doubts many will like it but i really don't. or maybe i'll just have to wait to cool it down and give it another try.


but for now the sentiment is to give it back.
