Hi, I'm planning to replace the video for the Pacific Rim UHD BD which is HDR only with a Hybrid Remux I found online with Dolby Vision from a streaming download, I have one question, does the streaming DoVi make a difference compared to the HDR only video, or the streaming DoVi is basically HDR repacked in a DoVi format? Same thing applies to other movies with Streaming only DoVi and HDR only UHD BDs.

I think these hybrids just have the DV layer injected into the BluRay release that never had DV so they're better than just the BR.

On a half-decent and properly calibrated display, HDR10 and DV is pretty indistinguishable (minus any encoding issues) unless you have 2 displays and can compare side-by-side to pick up the subtle improvements.
Better to have it then not, but it's not as necessary as some people make it out to be.

If your display needs it it can help, but not really.
