[Help] Best Topaz Video Enhance settings ?

Anyone can tell me the best Topaz video enhance settings for VHS record rips like this movie here on youtube




I want to upscale that movie to a good watchable 1080p or 4K.

Please give me settings i can use to restore that movie in 1080p or 4k.

There's not really a "one size fits all" setting, you just have to play around to get the best out of whatever source you're dealing with.

Topaz isn’t great for low quality sources but I’d start with Proteus at the recommended settings, turn the noise reduction down to 0 and then see if adjusting any of the other settings slightly improves things at all.

I've gotten some ok upgrades on low quality sources with the Iris V3 model. Using the "relative to auto" setting and turning the dehalo all the way down seems like the trick to avoid the oil paint effect. Also mess around a little with the "restore detail" setting and try to find a sweet spot to reduce blur without losing detail.

Dehalo is very good for sources with strong EE.
Remove Compression adds too much fake detail, I never go above 20 or 25 for this.
Usually, I don't use "noise reduction" and "recover original detail".

Topaz is not ideal in my opinion, it lacks a lot of adjustment (a reduction of chromatic noise would have been ideal for a VHS source), or tools to use our own image references.

Topaz has released tons of updates and new models but they still have the same old problems.
