Star Wars laserdisc preservations
#11
I'm willing if you send me the hardware to do it. No guarantees as the UK LD's are horribly rotted.

I appreciate them and I hunted them down on Ebay and paid for them so yeah, I think I'll hang on to them as long as I want.

I think it would be wise to sell the sets that (A) You didn't release a preservation of and (B) don't hold value to you.

Why? It's not like I own the sole copies. There are literally thousands of copies of each edition.

The standalone 1995 Japanese Laserdiscs should be sold because they are identical to the Japanese Collector's set, and have no use for preserving. Similar reasons as with the Japanese 1986 CLV Laserdiscs, as the video and digital stereo is on the 1991 P&S FOX Video CLV.

I like having them. Someday, I'll probably pass them on to somebody.

If you keep them, you should watch them.

Laserdisc collection is a REALLY strange hobby - said by a laserdisc collector himself... sometimes I ask myself "why should I still retain all those 30cm analog video platters?" - and the answer is "until I can, why not?" Smile
