It's like my TV: it's compatible with Atmos, it even displays the Atmos logo on screen when it detects the signal, but don't expect to have the real Atmos effects from its speakers. I think I get the joke now, Still this is pretty much the worst mix I have ever heard.

It's the Dolby way! Whack a logo on it and people think it's cinema grade

Hello all.
I still haven't bought the Lethal Weapon UHD, because I'm a bit allergic to "fixes". I wanted to ask the good knowledgeable folks here: Is there anything else "fixed" besides those people erased on the right of that shot? (maybe I could live with just that)

However I did notice that, in the past, on old transfers such as DVD, they had already excluded those people off frame by zooming in and/or framing the shot more to the left so you don't see what's on the right side. I think you can get it and live with that as it is otherwise the most accurate presentation to a 35mm we've had. Plus it includes the Dolby Stereo SR mix in lossless dts HDMA 2.0. You can also get the CiNEPHiLES or FraMeSToR for the Dolby Vision added to the remux as the UHD disc is HDR10 only. Thanks given by: titanic

OK, thank you @Beber.
Unfortunately Dolby Stereo SR mixes don't play well with my receiver (I have a DENON AVR-S770H). I usually get dialogue bleed on the front left and right speakers, and maybe a bit in the surrounds. Some mixes play well, but most don't. I don't know why. I'm sure it's not a setting I'm missing.. for example: My Criterion Prince of Tides DTS-HD MA 2.0 track decodes perfectly to 5.1. Same with A League of their Own UHD DTS-HD MA 2.0 . My Koch Media Allan Quatermain and the City of Gold LPCM 2.0 doesn't. (dialogue bleed) E.T. Universal blu-ray DTS 2.0 same. |
