The Blu-ray of Oblivion has better details, but the 4K disc has HDR. I wondered if it's possible to transfer the HDR from the 4K over to the BD and make a hybrid to get best of both.

I'm curious also.
I would probably just create a new HDR grade for an upscaled BD but I do wonder if there is an auto way to transfer the HDR. You could grade it manually to match but it would take a while.
I might try to upscale the Oblivion BD at some point. It and the terrible UHD of 3:10 to Yuma have been on the list for a while.

Wasn't it possible to move the luma from one video to another? If it was, then you would need to do that. All in an HDR project and then color match from the 4K to the BD. So no actual manual regrading. Thinking to simple?

My gut instinct is to say no, you'd probably just have to regrade the BD. But I would love someone to prove me wrong.
