There's VST plugins for DAWs that can do upmixing from stereo, I personally used Halo Upmix by NUGEN. It's quite robust and supports up to 7.1.4. I haven't tested it for things like Dolby Stereo decoding but considering it doesn't have LCRS layout I don't think it would be much better than FreeSurround.

Downloaded the CDS mix twice, but there seems to be a glitch at 00:02:52 whereby the audio mutes and doesn't come back. I viewed the file in Audacity and there does seem to be an instance where the audio goes blank. Has anybody experienced the same issue?
