Been a minute since I've posted some new syncs but I've really active on other corners of the internet (namely my discord and various TG groups) and I thought I'd make a thread for these syncs. I got inspired to do these because I was informed of some weirdness with the Six-Track mix off CiNEPHiLES' release and found that most of their audio was completely busted. Both of these tracks are synced to the 1998 DVD but will sync to the UHD with a +3993 ms delay. I did this because I know a lot of people like Top Gun in Open Matte and since the two sources are delay syncable why not please both parties.
1. Original Dolby Stereo Mix
Unlike what is commonly reported on this forum and elsewhere. The PCM track on the THX Laserdisc is not the original stereo mix, It is actually more likely a downmix of the AC-3 Six-Track. I had access to a bit-perfect capture of the Pan & Scan LD release and found it was much less blown out and more dynamic sounding than the THX PCM so I believe it is actually the original stereo mix, I checked the DVD stereo too and it is also a Six-Track downmix, though not as blown out as the THX LD. Available in 16/44.1 FLAC 2.0 to all members new and old
2. Original 70mm Six-Track Mix / LD
The 1998 DVD 5.1 track is in fact the Six-Track mix at higher bitrate (448kbps) and with slightly less dynamic compression, so syncing this might seem a little redudant but I found that the LD sounds more refined overall than the DVD despite it's advantages. It's much more maintained in terms of volume and the LFE has the slight edge over the DVD. Either way the copy I used for this sync is correct and not out of wack like CiNEPHiLES' copy so it was worth it in the end. Available in 16/48 DTS-HD MA 5.1 for all members new and old
Hope y'all enjoy and until next time, Peace.
