[Released] Con Air (1997) - WEB-DL Audio Syncs
#1
Been a minute since I've released some new syncs, mostly cause I've been backlogged with my discord and other project but I am here yet again to provide some good stuff. I've wanted to do something for Con Air for a while but just haven't really got to it until recently. Was a pretty easy going for the most part.

1. Original 5.1 Surround Mix (BD)
Con Air's Blu-Ray is infamously pretty terrible video-wise, however audio-wise it follows of the same trend as other Disney Blu-Rays of the era (i.e The Rock & Pirates of the Caribbean 1) in that it features the original theatrical 5.1 mix in PCM. I sourced this from a copy of the CEE BD but the US one is undoubtedly the same. It's a really great sounding mix and pares nicely with the remastered WEB-DL video. In a change of pace for my syncs, This sync is available in 16-bit 48khz DTS-HD MA 5.1 to all members new and old. I've decided from now on I will be rendering my surround syncs in DTS-HD MA for compatibility, this isn't a hard rule as there will be exception where i will render in FLAC (i.e Theatrical DTS, LD DTS)

2. 5.1 DTS Laserdisc Mix
Speak of the devil! This mix is actually kinda unique and I only really synced cause it had interested me and the wonderful @david49120 provided to me. The mix itself is MUCH louder than the BD 5.1 and I think it might honestly be a near-field mix but it still sounds pretty good and packs a nice punch. Available in 24-bit 44.1khz FLAC 5.1 for all members new and old.

Note: There's a scene near the end of the film with the character "Sally Can't Dance" where she says the line "Oh, men in uniforms". For some unknown reason this little bit has been removed from every home release of the film until the 4K Digital (the Blu-Ray actually had the "Oh" part of the line but the men in uniforms was cut). With a lack of a Theatrical DTS this line had to be patched back in using the WEB-DL remix audio, I have leveled the section to match both mixes so it shouldn't be too jarring. Interesting the DTS Laserdisc had an alternate line read for the pervious line "Ok Lady, hold it right there" so I tried my best to cut it to match the take from the BD/WEB (which I will assume is the theatrical take). This one little scene made this sync a little harder than it would have an easy breeze.

Till next time, peace!
