[Proposal] Raiders Of The Lost Ark (1981) 4K - Regraded 2.0 (no digital fixes)?
#1
Hey guys.

I was replacing the digital tweaked shots from the 4K (Indy Satipo and the spiders, digging the well of souls, and the lamps) with the previous unaltered version when I found an alternative 35mm print scan out there (4K, 40.6GB).
Here's a gallery: https://postimg.cc/gallery/5Hr6Qs6/d90df7c8

The UHD is accurate for the most part. Even the Nepal scene, which people told me it should not be that warm when I did my regrade, is warm here.
I also have the remixed laserdisc audio sync'ed and ready to mux.

Any interest in this?

I'm asking because the regrade itself will be pretty much nonexistent  (maybe a few shots here and there, and a bit less warm in the Bagdad scenes).

As I recall from conversations on OT.com, the cold grading in Nepal was there for the first run, and the warmer grading was implemented for the rerelease.

No disrespect, but I think the second part of the film took place in * Cairo. Either way, I wish good luck with your project :-)

Oooops yes. My bad. I don't know what was I thinking (probably nothing at all).

Also I see I made another BIG mistake: this is in audio projects when it should be in complete projects.

Can some mod move it, please?

And it seems postimage doesn't like Indiana Jones either. WTF?

Mmmh, interesting. Good to know.

Ok, by removing a bit of the warmth, this has ended looking closer to the wowow than I expected (I regraded Nepal bar cold as Litemakr's scan, which I don't have, but not as bluish-magenta). (postimages definitely doesn't like Indy Sad)

Will encode it, and we'll see if I share it...
