Yeah it's basically the same thing either way. I don't think the channel bleed is right so I will try using the music PL2 like you suggested with the VE test and send the signal forward to combat the bleeding.

PLIIx is a weird and simultaneously great thing. The upmixing from 4.0 to 7.1 actually does work and makes that mono surround really come to life. I'm still not sure if the purist in me like it, but stays faithful in every way from what i can tell and seems to to the best job of decoding when compared to PLII straight.
IIx merely brings the mono surround to all four rears evenly.
