Blood Simple LD

Does anyone here have Blood Simple on Laserdisc? It would be nice to have to original mono mix. I realise that the US LD replaced one of the songs due to rights issues (not sure about the Japanese LD, though), but I don't know if the mix was altered in any other way.

Criterion will release that, so maybe it includes it?

Really? I didn't know that. However, most DVD releases and all Blu-ray releases feature the Director's Cut, which only ever had a newly created stereo mix. So, unless the Criterion release includes the theatrical cut, it's a slim chance.

Since the film has already been released on Bluray, I don't think Criterion would go to all this trouble to release the same thing again.
I'm sure they will release the theatrical cut too. |
