LaserDiscs needed for replacing BD audio

Let me add it to the list, great movie and it deserves a proper soundtrack.

I'm informed that the '94 Deluxe CAV Laserdisc Edition has the original full mono soundtrack on the left analog channel and music/effects only on the right channel. Presumably the standard edition has it as well, but we'll have to check that.

Well I've got my hands on a copy of my own now, so I'll rip the soundtrack. All's I need now is the means to transfer the material.

Awesome news FrankT, i'll note that on the list that you have it. As far as capturing it, you'll need an audio card https://fanrestore.com/thread-82.html or find someone with the ability, that lives in your country to ship it.

Uh... couldn't I just sort of record it off a Laserdisc player?

The LD player audio out goes to the capture card in the pc, if you want to do it right, this is it.

Would I have to swap out my graphics card to do it? I don't think I have any more slots in my PC-Express.

Or, if you are looking at capturing just the audio you could use a stand alone CD recorder or DVD recorder (only if the DVD recorder captures in PCM, which very few do and the DVD method would be an analog, NOT bit-perfect capture)

I know for a fact that some people have used the CD recorder method for capturing audio from Laserdiscs, with very nice results.

Hm. A CD or USB recorder would be good. What models would you recommend?

My LD player came with a copy of Toy Story, so I can get the soundtrack off that when I deal with Snow White too.

That's great FrankT, what code number does that Toy Story LD have?

Any luck with getting something together for capturing?
