I remember people complaining about DNR on the titanic trailer on youtube then saying the DCP looked a lot better. I didn't get the chance to see it myself though
I can confirm Mann's D.C. of BLACKHAT is still yet a 3rd revison cut, even slightly different than the D.C he showed in 2016 and then later aired in 2017 on FX/DirectTV/TNT.
@Falcon in the latest version of Avidemux, use the "HDR Tone mapping" function setting under the "Video" tab at top. You can also set it permanently under Preferences. : https://i.imgur.com/uAW1nw6.jpg
Handbrake automatically does this quite well. Premiere pro you have to adjust the calibration yourself. But if there are regulars who do it with better tools, I'm interested.
sure y'all know this but the latest version of MPC in Win10 (and 11 no doubt) play Dolby Vision with ease, (I'm doing the Video Renderer, not MadVR) and no tone mapping hack thats really SD over HDR. I confirmed this because the thumbnail when I scroll is still that weird mostly shades of purple+green, but the actual playback itself looks great.
theres guides on videohelp, doom9, etc. But essentially you load in the source into a video editor like virtualdub, tmpgenc, handbreak, Ripbot, Premiere, Vegas, etc. and set the output to 1080p
Ah, it's a SAC movie in the GitS Universe.. The Design of the DVD release from UK just put me off, because it's not Designer as I would expect an anime dvd release would be Designed.
This can do SDR <-> HDR back/forward conversion, realtime preview, edit metadata, MaxCLL, MaxFALL, etc. Free trial w/ all features, limited to 1 minute export max, https://www.acrovid.com/neofootage_ai.htm
Does anyone know any estimated time of when ptp (passthepopcorn) tracker, will be up again? It's such a great tracker! The best really in my opinion. I hope nothing serious happened and it closed down.
I saw a mentioning of a scheduled maintenance thing yesterday in the form of a black banner, but I immediately purged it from my head regarding deets LOL
@alleycat eagle eyed fans can notice the nuclear reactor fallout is still showing on the monitors in the Chinese embassy scene at the beginning, lol. I corrected that in my version
Yes the DC fixes some changes that were supposedly forced on the TC. Originally a major scene took place in the middle but it was moved to the beginning as the producers wanted to keep people interested. In order for that to make sense some chinese dialogue scenes had to be altered. The DC puts it back to the original order, along with some less significant changes.
