In case anyone didn't know (I didn't) 'Nope' on BluRay includes IMAX scenes unlike the VOD version.
avatar
It's Disney, They dont care on the physical market
avatar
I think they'll milk the Disney+ streaming for a good while before ever putting a disc out.
avatar
@NeonBible Hoping for a disc release too, but unfortunately this is Disney we're talking about!

New Beverly Cinema Is Screening Jackie Brown In 35mm

The new 4K remaster of The Muppet Christmas Carol extended version is finally coming to Disney+ in December. Hoping for a disc release too.
avatar
And Polar Express soon. Together with P,T&A its a really great year for festive releases!
avatar
Nice, one of my favorites. I see A Christmas Story and Elf are also out on UHD.
avatar
The new 4K transfer on Christmas Vacation is wonderful. Haven't listened closely to the new 5.1 track but stereo is also included and a commentary. Highly recommended.
avatar
@Endocryne because you can't roll back

Someone is doing a Fundraiser For The LOTR Trilogy at OT

Tarantino coming to the London Palladium in March 2023
avatar
Why you just don't revert the update via the config?
avatar
General warning again: Windows update to version 22H2 has jacked up my Adobe Premiere, general codecs interaction, especially Lagarith (older codec) encoding and decoding..its not even displaying the full 8.3 filename w. extension in Premiere; its calling it ".av" instead of ".avi!" I don't think I can roll it back either. There's also reports of very sluggish performance handling large files in Windows, waveform drawing visibility vanishing for AAC audio after upgrading (in both video and audio editors), and Nvidia had a bug (also w/ Win11) of super slow frame-rates in games until they patched the driver. Beware!
avatar
Yes. I am in the beta test forum and we cannot believe that they released it. May be a corp decision.
avatar
Topaz VEAI 3.0 is out, lots of bugs unfortunately https://community.topazlabs.com/t/topaz-...0/35818/67
avatar
Same it was stunning in 70mm
avatar
Aliens on 70mm was by far one of the best cinema experiences for me.

The Keep is the old LD master in OAR, while Near Dark is the StudioCanal BD master.
avatar
Anyone have checked the keep and Near Dark on the Criterion Channel?
avatar
The Planes Traines and Automobiles 4k release with 75 extra minutes is the greatest announcement this year! 😄
avatar
Happy 60th to the James Bond movie franchise. I totally missed a Bond music tribute concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Sad about that!
avatar
Me too, one movie I watch every year for the Holidays
avatar
PT&A is one of my all time favourites. This is exciting news.

The sound mix is definitely not as dynamic as the IMAX, and it very much reminded me of the standard version. Not bad, but also doesn't rock as it could have. Film is still awesome, but definitely works better on a big screen (Which I say to its credit)
avatar
Here is a review with some mention of the audio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvBrbTmY3O0
avatar
Not watched it yet
avatar
How's the audio?
avatar
Yay, Top Gun Maverick (home release) has IMAX scenes.
avatar
Our we really sure that's what they used or another source
avatar
But whats actually really funny is thats its the DTS V2 fanscan
avatar
Guys if you haven't watched the Disney+ series Light & Magic, Episode 6 is incredible for JP fans. They also used 35mm footage to showcase the movie
avatar
They just pulled 30 out of their OC Shows off the platform

Well shit, The HBO/Discovery Isn't Going Well

It looks like's Clint's career is over, unless Universal calls.

But also pushing big, giant movies. The one thing I like about streaming is that it brings back mid tier films which I miss.
avatar
Could be good, could be bad. Seems at least for movies they are putting the push on theatrical first, instead of streaming. Which I like.

Good afternoon everyone. I am back. I had to be away for a long time due to a job change. I didn't have time to organize my files. I lost some files due to external HD failure. I hope now to resume my activities on the forum. Glad to be back here. Greetings everyone.
avatar
Ah that sucks
avatar
avatar
They can achieve the higher frame rate conversion by doing the same modern TV do, which is advance frame interpolation using a CGI reconstructed frame every other frame.
avatar
tbh I'm kind of curious how it will look considering it was filmed at 24. And I wonder if they'll go with 48 or 60
avatar
Cameron Might Mess around with titanic and avatar For Higher Frame Rates
avatar
Just present it as they should, 24fps
