IF you bought The Last Jedi which version and why?
Posted by: Jetrell Fo - 2018-03-29, 03:06 AM - Forum: Everything else... - Replies (19)

I bought the version I wanted from Walmart because the same version on eBay was double it's actual selling price.

I got the Bluray/DVD/Digital set that had the Bluray bonus disc and the 6 card choices for the cover.  Well worth the $25 samolians it cost me.

20,000 leagues under the sea - UAR
Posted by: spoRv - 2018-03-28, 10:05 PM - Forum: Requests, proposals, help - Replies (11)

Today, during the usual HDD cleaning from unused files, I've found a very old, unfinished project - 20,000 leagues under the sea; idea was to add needed soundtracks and few more, maybe a slight color correction and noise reduction.

Then, I noted I have two versions... guess what? Yep, they have different aspect ratios! So, why don't give it a try with an UAR version?

Well, they have also very different color grading, so they won't always match perfectly, but for most of the shots they seem to blend pretty well; for the others, one of the sources must be used.

Top letterbox, bottom UAR (that has usually more image on both left and bottom sides):

Looking for workprints that were floating around in trading circles in the 90's-00's

Hi everyone I've been collecting workprints for 11 years and I'm hoping I get some help on here from you guys. I'm basically after workprints that were floating around years ago in trading circles in the 1990's-2000's before disappearing entirely. I have a huge want list & trading list for those who are interested. There's probably tons more that existed at one time that i don't have listed.

You can view my want list and trading list here:  http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/show...p?t=366828

If anyone is interested in doing a trade or has information message me at moviecritic1990@hotmail.com

Thank you and Happy Easter all,
Jeff

The Day After - Original TV Version Reconstruction
Posted by: FrankT - 2018-03-21, 12:22 PM - Forum: Archived projects - Replies (17)

I'm hoping to recreate the original TV version of The Day After from high-quality sources. The idea I have is to reconstruct the original matte from various releases, maybe upscale it if I have time (or, if PDB is willing, I can pass it on to him so he can work his magic). I imagine I'll need several DVDs of the film. Anyone know where I can get my hands on each different version?

  X264 Encoder missing one frame
Posted by: X5gb - 2018-03-21, 09:22 AM - Forum: General technical discussions - No Replies

Encoding a finished Premiere project with 2 pass x264 either through Simple or Megui and whatever I've tried it is removing one frame at the twenty one second mark on the second pass (removing the final frame of the Paramount logo before it goes to black). Tried it with other encoders including Handbrake (not quite as good quality) and no such problem so am stumped as to what could be causing it. Have resorted to adding an extra black frame and see how that goes which I'm encoding at the moment but would prefer to work out what is causing this. First thought it might be a glitch in the source but tried it with a lesser second source I'm using in the project (from different original source) and surprisingly it does it with that as well which seems weird.

Any advice as to what could be causing this is much appreciated.

Hoping it’s an open matte version to preserve.

[Request] Rumble in the Bronx laserdisc audio?

Hello.

Would anyone happen to have a capture of the sync sound Cantonese track from either the HK or Japanese laserdisc? Also the 5.1. sync sound track from the HK R3 Warner DVD? I know a guy who is working on a fan edit of the film (not sure if he's registered on the board). and he's curious to see how those respective audio tracks sound?

Cheers.
