Don't know... I use only avisynth, and it does not write to the source file, but produce another one - lossless, that would be encoded again, so double encode.

There are for sure some softwares that could take a lossy AVC file, and put in a frame/shot/scene, reducing the re-encoding just to few frames around the cut - still, don't remember which ones!

sporv, yep, but that has been in it since the very first dvd ever released, it's a studio release error. I'll have them for you tomorrow

okay sporv, i dont have frame numbers, just time, but hunted down both i mentioned in Philosopher's Stone
1. the blueish cast over harry's chin/jawline - 00:04:12/13 seconds, literally the first scene after the harry potter logo, he's in bed in his cupboard under the stairs in the dark, i know it is a shadow effect just dont remember seeing that specific color before. It lasts around 1 second and then someone turns on his light and it is perfect again

2. Dumbledore's audio loop at the end of the film when he is reciting how the houses did that year, it's been in the film since the very first dvd release

1. I've checked the BD and it seems to be there, too, only, the frame is cropped so it's just barely noticeable...
   
2. It's an audio repeat - IMHO to remark that Albus is waaay old, and you know the eldest, they love to repeat words to be clearer, to be clearer, got the point, got the point?
