FYI, I'm still willing to make a patched/"hybrid" CDS mix for the Extended Cut using the 2015 BR as a source for the rest of the EC audio, so long as someone can provide me with the best available source of the CDS mix synced to the 2015 BR. I've just been waiting on a consensus as to which version of the CDS mix is the best to use, and for a 2015 sync of it to become available.
If that's something that's already out there, let me know as I must have missed it somewhere along the line.

After reading myself through virtually all threads about this topic now, fidelity-wise there seems to be the consensus that the DTS track from the Japanese DVD is the best source. What remains uncertain (for me) is whether the surround levels of the AC3 or the DTS are the correct ones now as they differ about 3dB.
I can provide you both but the DTS only in its original, unedited form.

I have the AC3, so if you can provide the DTS that'd be fantastic. I'm pretty sure I can handle the sync myself.

Thanks for clarifying that. I was a bit confused myself. I would agree that there should be an in depth comparison of each source first.
Is the 2015 BD the best extended audio? I'm not really all too familiar with all the various versions as the only ones I have are the LD boxes and the CDS ac3 DVD.

If anyone wants to provide both versions of the CDS mix I'm sure I'd be able to fill in the filtered out portions of the HDDVD version using the DTS version.

So as a massive CDS fan I managed to miss this thread.
So are we going with the old adage that Disclord said the first DVD had it, and now people are saying there are HD versions with the mix?

Yeah, seems as if some early European HD-DVD and BD releases, just containing the Theatrical version on the disc, got the old mix.
I personally still prefer the Japanese DVDs DTS track.

What about the 2.0 Dolby Surround Mix on the 1997 DVD? Is it identical to the stereo track found on the original VHS, Laserdisc, and Dolby SR Optical release?
