My guess is that that will happen down the road, as it did with the original BDs. Soon as they realize that some people won't buy the whole shebang, they'll find another way of selling it.

F*** you, Johnson, F*** your whole movie!", and just let pettiness dictate the script, which is devoid of wit or fun. Even the action sequences are rushed, badly planned and uninvolving. I came with zero expectations as to the story side (Since Kasdan was not involved in the script, which was written by Abrams and Chris Terrio, which should, in itself, be taken as a warning), but I still found myself shaking my head at the vindictiveness Abrams shows in his story choices, and the anger that seemed to disable the joy with which he approached TFA.
While TFA is rather empty on story, it was fun, I really enjoyed it and still do. I think the jokes land, the flying sequences are great, and the new characters are involving, if a bit rehashed. with TROS, the barrage of new characters pretty much ensured none of them would be developed, and all of them seem irrelevant to the story. I was very disappointed with the filmmaking, but I can understand those who loved it. It actually made me appreciate ROTJ a lot more, as even though the Ewoks slowed the film down, in its core, it was an actual conclusion to the trilogy, with themes and character arcs that actually seem to have developed across 3 films, rather than tacked on in the last one.
I didn't sense any vindictiveness, but you can tell Abrams was trying to cram 2 movies worth of story into this one, and the frantic pacing is the result. Plus the reportedly extensive reshoots certainly didn't help. I won't get into TLJ debate, but it certainly derailed the story set up in TFA and didn't develop much of a new one, so Abrams was kinda screwed no matter how he approached it. I enjoyed it for what it was, but I didn't expect much. It's clear there was no cohesive story plan for this trilogy or for how it would work as the third act of a 9 part story. The blame for that falls on Kennedy and Iger IMO. If you do some research on what Lucas had planned (beyond the supposed Whills aspect), it seems they ended up using a lot of it in this movie. I'm curious to hear a more about his treatments, how they were/weren't used, and why.

And now this has appeared -
Code: Star.Wars.Episode.IV.A.New.Hope.1977.INTERNAL.ALTERNATIVE.CUT.HDR.2160p.WEB.H265-UHDCANDY
Curious as to know what's 'alternative' about it.

Nice. Alternative likely refers to the once more altered scene between Han and the bounty hunter.

Why even bother, guys? In about 5 to 6 weeks, the UHD discs will be out there anyway.
