As far as updating the CGI, I really would have to agree with you. Since scanning film in at a higher resolution doesn't account for outdated CGI in the way it does for models, it may be worth it to Disney to look into making a Special Edition V2, especially since the new SE releases seem to just be reversing old changes back to the original.

Yeah that’s why with both the prequels and the original trilogy the updated cgi would benefit the films making the out of this world look. look more fantastical and not take you out of the movie anymore. |
