The Star Wars Saga is now available in 4K on UHD Blu-ray. The US 4K BD feature the movies with hard-coded subtitles. But they do look like they are re-created from scratch - Sorry I can't post screencaps, somebody might be able to do so.
If they are indeed re-created, can we make them look better? They way too sharp.
Any thoughts?

Those segments are also available without hard-coded subs on the discs for foreign seemless branching. So you have a clean slate to work on.
I've made my own assembly of segments to include the English opening and the free-of-subs segments so that I can eventually add my own French subs the way I like.

They did not do the same for The Force Awakens, dammit! We are still stuck with English burnt-in subs. Those idiots couldn't even make all discs the same way and give us the option.

But those idiots already do use seemless branching because of the opening crawl anyway, that's the thing.
And they did use a subfree Greedo sequence in seemless branching for A New Hope and alike for The Phantom Menace. I haven't checked the others yet (II, VI and IX). They're not even consistent within the whole saga inside the same boxset.

The Force Awakens on Disney+ uses the textless master, on the UHD however is burned in.
