Is this just the same as the 1080p Blu-ray? Same bitrate etc. unless I'm mistaken...

Though that's DTSHD-MA. Mine isn't! Has 5.1 as default track, 2.0 secondary. EDIT: This is interesting though... the secondary track (2.0) is listed as "original theatrical" but the 5.1 isn't. I wonder if the 5.1 on the Blu-ray is just a cut down version of the "director's cut" remix audio instead of the actual Dolby Stereo 4ch or 6-track... When the DVD set came out with the theatrical cut available for the first time on DVD they originally put a 2.0 mix down of the new 5.1 mix, so the 5.1 and 2.0 mix were from the same source. They offered a mail away replacement service to get a corrected disc. Might be worth having a listen to be sure you have a disc from a later pressing, there must still be some incorrect discs out in the wild.(2020-07-08, 02:52 PM)Booshman Wrote:(2020-07-08, 02:40 PM)pipefan413 Wrote: Is this just the same as the 1080p Blu-ray? This probably explains why I have 2 copies of the Blu-ray box set. I know I bought a second one but I didn't remember why. Do you happen to know if the (1080p) Blu-ray Disc in the 4K set is from the new transfer, or if it's just a repressing of the old disc? I tried muxing the audio to the 2011 Blu-ray and it does appear to sync at first glance at least, I skipped to near the end and checked to see if I could see any obvious issues with sync but didn't think it looked off. It's entirely possible that there's a small discrepancy that I've not yet noticed though. Does anybody know if the old 1080p BD and the new 1080p and 4K BDs are all in sync? |
