Integration of an element in a scene?
#1
I'm trying to integrate gaston's missing chair on the UHD and BD.
I isolated the chair from the blu ray 3D and I try to integrate it into the UHD but I don’t know which is the most suitable tool.
I tried with premiere pro and chroma key effects, but the results are not great

The missing chair (UHD / BD) :

My integration of the chair on the UHD (Premiere Pro WIP) :

The legs of the chair cross the character.

I can't properly put the chair behind Gaston and Lefou on Premiere Pro.
I think the only solution would be to clean up every frame, but that would take way too long.

If I can't integrate the chair on the 4k, I'll just use the scene from the 35mm scan when it's funded.

If both of them are same aspect ratio/color matrix you could cut parts from Source 1 at I-Frame and add it to Source 2 (lossless) You could use https://avidemux.sourceforge.net/ for that, on that note is the chair suppose to be there, looks more like a bug right?

Hello, I think you misunderstood my request Smile
I'm not asking to do smart rendering.
On the BD/UHD, the armchair is gone.
But it is present on the BD3D.
I don't want to use the scene from the Blu-Ray 3D because it has 3D effects, so I need to keep the scene from the UHD, but add the armchair to it.

I isolated the armchair in photoshop, and I would like to integrate it into the UHD scene.
It's difficult, because I have to use a chroma key so that Gaston and lefou stay in front of the armchair.

And so far, my integration does indeed look like a bug Smile

Unless I'm missing something - the 3D blu ray only has 3D effects because it combines the AVC and MVC streams? Couldn't you just demux the 3D Blu Ray in tsmuxer - only keep the AVC steam and then use that as your source?

his arm and body are being consumed by the chair. looks like an error to me.

I don't want to use the 3D file for this scene, because there are added effects, and it's not like the original.
In addition, the positioning of characters is slightly different on the 3D version.

Again, I just want to integrate the chair into 4k.
But it's complicated because the chair has to stay behind Gaston and Lefou.

This is just the result I get on premiere pro.
On the first layer, I try to erase the background to isolate Gaston and Lefou.
The layer below is the chair.
The layer still below is the background.

The problem is that when I try to erase the background of Gaston and lefou, it also erases their outlines, since there are colors in the background that are similar.

Was on mobile and missed the 2nd pic.

But what about this chair is so important to your viewing experience that it needs to be there? Why not attempt to fix any of the other many mistakes:

The site you sent shows the global mistakes of the movie, not mistakes related to a specific edition.
All movies have mistakes, I'm not trying to correct that. But versions of Beauty and the Beast since the DVD era have undergone many changes.
See this project like any other preservation project "as it was in its time".
